Dost Dost Na Raha, Pyaar Pyaar Na Raha - Sangam

I mentioned this particular song in one of my write-ups on Speak your mind. I’m amazed that I haven’t posted this song over here.

I give full credit to Mukesh. There is so much pain in that voice that it touches your heart.

Actually I have been thinking that more than enemies, so-called friends are far more dangerous. Many a times we just take that person as a good friend but right behind our back, he/she is the one who is playing games & messing up things for us. Such crimes are usually committed by best friends or friends you trust like anything. They steal away your trashy girl. Now that friend definitely doesn’t have any character if he’s trying to impress your ladylove.

But the question is: how can one be wise while choosing friends or for that matter falling in love with trash? I believe having enemies is not so bad (who cares whether they have character or not) but having such false friends & lovers by all means is a misfortune.

Anyhow, it’s a very beautiful song. It’s another thing it’s sad. May no one ever comes across this kind of friend or beloved, but this is wishful thinking.

Aaj Ki Raat Yeh Kaisi Raat - Aman [1967]

This is indeed a very sexy track. And I guess anyone who has a little better voice can sing it as well, because this song is more like talking. And we all know we have too many sexy talkers out there.

But when you look at the video, Rajendra Kumar just doesn't seem right for the song. Saira Banu is a beautiful woman. Anyone can sing for her, but Rajendra makes this song somehow too ordinary.

Mohammad Rafi as usual has done his magic. Just listen to this song & you'd love it, but watching it can be a torment.

Yeh Mera Prem Patr Par Kar – Sangam 1964

All I can say is that it's a beautiful song! Very romantic & sweet!

Sangam was a super duper hit & it is still considered classic even today. And they are pioneers who started off shooting in places such Paris, Venice & Switzerland. Later on it became a trend in Bollywood to use foreign locations for shooting & now they do that quite religiously in almost every movie. The story line of Sangam is okay. It's about two childhood friends & they fell in love with the same girl.

I think both Vyjatantimala & Rejendra Kumar look fine but Mr. Raj Kapoor behaves as a little boy in the song Oh Mehbooba teray dil kay pass hee meri manzil maqsood. It's a beautiful song. I just love listening to it but I can't think of watching it ever. In fact I thought about posting that song but then I changed my mind. You know Raj Kapoor looks more like an uncle & it's very irritating to see him behaving as a teenager. Anyhow, all the songs are beautiful. Dost dost na raha is very deep & painful. Har dil jo pyaar kare ga is also nice. But it hurts when Gopal i.e. Rajendra Kumar commits suicide in the end. There was no need of it but he had to make a sacrifice.

I heard a lot about this movie from my parents cause they got married in 1964 & Bol Radha Bol had been their favorite song.
