After hearing the crappy 'Dum Maaro Dum' song with the sexy Deepika Padukone one would hardly feel really happy or relaxed. Especially the senior actors in the film fraternity would not fall for such crap.
The word is out that both Dev Anand and Zeenat Aman are quite unhappy and upset with the new 'Dum Maaro Dum' song which was inspired by the all time classic song from the 1972 film 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna'. In the original version we saw Zeenat Aman. While Deepika played her part as the item girl pretty well - the over all song had terrible lyrics that didn't do wonders for the film. More or less, it just got the film some negative pre-release reviews.
While promoting for his new film, Abhishek Bachchan had to answer a lot of queries regarding the song and how it has angered the senior actors, to which he responded in a defensive mode. He clarified that the song is not even a remix as it is being labelled. Only the words 'Dum Maaro Dum' were taken from the original song with due permission of the seniors.
But he said further, 'Everyone here is a huge fan of the original. We have immense respect and love for Dev saab and Zeenat aunty and we are not in anyway trying to upset them. We have utmost respect for them.'
He added, 'We are here to entertain people and not take on our seniors. We are too insignificant to try and compete with a legend like Dev Sahab.'
It must be a tough task to fight for such a pathetic song!
