L’Oreal Ad Banned For Making Rachel Weisz Look ‘Misleadingly’ Attractive

How very embarrassing! :P

Anyhow, questions were raised when Rachel Weisz was seen with perfectly smooth skin in a campaign for L’Oreal’s age-defying beauty products. In fact the image had been digitally enhanced to even out her complexion. Since her skin looked smoother & her complexion looked more even, some people started making noise.

It has been reported that the initial complaints about the ad came from Jo Swinson, a member of the British Parliament who founded the Campaign for Body Confidence. And today, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has announced a ban on the magazine advertisement for L’Oreal’s Revitalift Repair 10. It ruled the image ‘misleadingly exaggerated’ the performance of the product.

But what is surprising is that the ASA thinks L’Oreal (or any beauty company, for that matter) will comply with the request to not use Photoshop. They certainly do not live on this planet. How would ad people manage without airbrushing images? Nobody is that perfect. Yeah customers don’t want to hear lies but we all know that most of the celebrities are not goddess & gods. And we want to see nice things in ads. We want to see misleadingly attractive people. What’s wrong with that? So what if Rachel Weisz looks 20 years younger? She still looks something like herself.

Oh actually I like both Daniel Craig & Rachel Weisz. What a cool couple!

Review: Dream House (2011)

Dream House is an American thriller starring Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz, Naomi Watts and Marton Csokas. Directed by Jim Sheridan, Dream House is a fairly recent movie released on September 30th, 2011.

A publisher Will (Daniel Craig) moves from New York to a house in Connecticut with his wife Libby (Rachel Weisz) and his daughters Trish and Dee Dee.  Having moved there, the family experiences strange things like their daughters saw a man watching their house from the front yard. Even their neighbors Ann (Naomi Watts) and her daughter behave in a rather awkward manner when Will tries to investigate about the family who lived in his house previously.

Will is not sure of what is happening with his family and why nobody is helping them. However, he does his own research and discovers that before he and his family moved into this house, a woman named Elizabeth and her two daughters Beatrice and Katherine were murdered there. Elizabeth’s husband, Peter Ward was arrested for murdering his family but due to lack of evidence he was set free.

Now Will is thinking that Peter Ward has come back to kill his family too. Upon more investigation, he lands in a psychiatric hospital where Peter Ward was kept after he killed his family. And there the story has a twist. Will discovers that he is himself Peter Ward and he changed his identity to Will so that he could cope with the grief of his family’s loss.

So, when Peter returns back to his house he communicates with his dead wife and daughters who also believe in his innocence. Peter finally has a word with his neighbor Ann who asks Peter to let go off this house, his memories and move on in life. Although others consider Peter to be a killer or psychopath but Ann too believes he is innocent.

What follows is how Peter discovers who the real killer of his family was and the thrill is maintained till the climax. Peter eventually gets to know the truth and goes back to New York and publishes a book titled Dream House about his life.

I’d say that by all means Dream House is a good movie with an interesting story line. Besides, having an amazing cast I’ll have to say Dream House didn’t have a single boring scene. It was a short 90 minutes movie. I’d consider it complicated for the most part till the picture becomes clearer and Peter gets to know who is really is. Daniel Craig was brilliant and kept the interest level intact throughout, while Rachel Weisz did absolute justice to her subtle character. Naomi Watts had a small role but it was significant.

Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz Tied The Knot

Daniel Craig's publicist had confirmed the news that the actor has married Rachel Weisz. The wedding was quietly attended only by Craig's teenage daughter - Ella, Weisz's five year old son - Henry and two family friends as guests.

The couple met while shooting for the film Dream House. This is the first marriage for Weisz and the second for the James Bond star.

I really liked the sound of this couple. Both good looking and decent...better than many others overrated celebrity couples. Though it was funny to read that many women were heart broken and crying from within to hear Daniel Craig is no longer single :P The man was married even before and had a pretty old daughter as well. It should not be such a shocker!

Anyway happy married life to Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz. You guys make a lovely couple!
