No pant day was celebrated this Sunday & this has been 11th annual no trousers day. The history of this fun day event began with just seven participants in New York in the year 2001 but now this event has become quite popular. It is celebrated in 60 cities including Washington, Madrid, Toronto and Mexico City.
The whole point is to go without any pants (wear interesting undies and colorful socks) but to act completely normal. Basically the idea is to entertain & surprise bystanders & more importantly, to lighten up the dreariness of every day.
However, some people do not like this idea. Maybe they don’t like to laugh at stupid things & semi-naked people.
Alicia Lopez - a passenger in Mexico City, where around 700 people took part - said: 'I consider people without pants, without skirts, to be semi-naked. I don't know their demands. I don't know what they are seeking because they're protesting but I think there are ways to do it.'
I think it’s quite a fun idea. In order to make people laugh, take off your pants :P But I don’t want to see so many people semi-naked. It won’t make for a jolly good sight but nevertheless practical joke group Improv Everywhere at least came up with something that doesn’t sound bizarre.
