People have always been curious about the true sexuality of Hollywood legend James Deans & now they have made a movie on it. The movie is directed by Matthew Mishory & James Dean is played by some unknown actor James Preston who is most famous for his role as werewolf Lukas Ford in supernatural TV drama The Gates.
“Joshua Tree, 1951: A Portrait of James Dean,” includes scenes that depict James Dean having sexual encounters with a series of men.
I really don’t know if it’s a big deal or not. But in every write-up, they have mentioned this scene in which the character of Dean makes love to his male roommate in a corridor. Gay or straight – you will make love somewhere & why this corridor thing has been such big deal. Sometimes I’m amazed how everything puts some people in a state of shock. Then in another scene, he’s seen in an intimate mountaintop embrace with yet another male character.
This is not the 1st time they have suggested that Dean was gay. From time to time, we have heard about his alleged trysts with Rock Hudson, Clifton Webb, Bill Bast, and Jack Simmons. Even after the death of Elizabeth Taylor, we heard things like he was abused at a very young age.
Dean's first biographer and close friend William Bast also claimed that they were lovers. Moreover, screenwriter Gavin Lambert and Nicholas Ray, who directed Dean's most celebrated movie, Rebel Without A Cause also described him as gay. But in the book The Unabridged James Dean: His Life and Legacy from A to Z, James Dean denied being gay.
He said: 'No, I am not a homosexual. But, I'm also not going to go through life with one hand tied behind my back.'
Which could probably mean he was bisexual. After all, there is a possibility. Who knows! He died at a very young age. He was just 24. Had he lived, curious people might have discovered the truth about his sexuality. However, his sexuality was totally his business but after all these years, people are still curious.
James Preston seems to be the right choice but he’s not as good-looking as James Dean.
