Liam Tasker had been on patrol with his dog Theo at the time of the attack in Afghanistan & shortly after his death, his Army search dog Theo also died of a broken heart. He suffered a seizure.
Liam spent just 15 weeks on a handlers’ course with Theo where they both developed a very strong bond. Theo had been quite successful at detecting explosives. Both Liam & Theo found 14 homemade bombs & loads of weapons in just 5 months.
‘I love my job and working together with Theo. He has a great character and never tires…He can’t wait to get out and do his job and will stop at nothing,’ he said in an interview on the Ministry of Defence website.
His family said that Liam was larger than life & his girlfriend further added that he used to touch the lives of just anyone he ever met & she’s very proud of him. He did touch the live of Theo too. We have been reading too many stories in which either dog waits for the owner or dies due to a broken heart. You cannot doubt the loyalty of your four-legged friend. It’s a pity that dogs are mistreated & slaughtered in various places & we can't put sense in their stupid heads.
