Chandi Ki Deewar – Mukesh

I haven't seen this movie. Moreover I thought it would be black & white film. Anyhow, Vishwas is pretty old. It was released in 1969. Jeetandra looks nice. He looks cool even today & he's so much better than his kids.

Basically I like this song. Mukesh has sung it with a broken heart...there is intense pain & so much feeling in it. Anyone who has experienced that kind of thing can feel it too unless you're suffering from a complex that I only watch & listen to English music. That's a different story.

In this particular track, it's very easy on me to choose my favourite lines:
'Sadiyon se dil toot-ta aya
Dil ka bas yeh rona hai
Jab tak chaha dil se khela
Aur jab chaha tod diya.'

This is how the story is. Maybe things have changed now, cause we live in an extremely materialistic world. Just because you don't happen to be someone rich, naturally no one has time to have an affair with you. And in some cases, when you express yourself & are being turned down or insulted & humiliated for liking a person who is not even worth it...what happens is that after few years, that same person comes back & he/she expects you to be standing right there where you expressed yourself. I find that a bit funny. People attach too much importance to themselves & don't realize life goes on.

And I've also noticed one thing in old movies that someone or the other knows how to play the piano very well. Then a sad person always sings a sad number on a happy occasion. Weird! But thank God this sad song is meaningful. Ab tou aisa kuch nahin hota hai cause no one would fall for someone belonging to another class or a child of a lesser God. People weigh everything before they take any step & when they don't, you need to look at your bank balance & thank God that you're being rescued or else you might be seen singing a sad song on a joyous event.
