This is a very cute, fun clip. I had no idea that even big cats wouldn’t like their reflection that much. It’s so cute how some cats reacted.
They carried out this experiment at the Big Cat Rescue animal sanctuary & it has been discovered that big cats don’t like mirrors as such. They were not at all pleased to see another big cat staring back at them. Although smaller cats were a bit more curious just like pet cats but they too were scared. They reacted just like any pet cat. I just love how the Bobcat reacted. It was too cute.
Mirror tests have been done on several other species. Gorillas, chimps, dolphins & elephants have been intelligent to know that it was their own reflection. They weren’t as such bothered.
Big cats, however, have behaved just like pet cats. When they see themselves in the mirror, some get mad to see their own reflection & some are very curious to know as to who is this other cat. Over all, I think this was a cute video. Cats are really majestic creatures, but it’s weird that they don’t admire themselves in the mirror.
Btw, Big Cat Rescue is a non-profit organization that opened its doors in 1992 & now it’s home to more than 100 exotic felines. They make videos of animals to educate people.
