Holly - the world’s oldest doe

The beautiful girl Holly will turn 22 this July & right now she's the oldest doe alive. And she loves polo mints.

This one's a very cute pic. This is Holly with Clover when was just a few weeks old & Clover is the one who held the title of being the oldest deer in captivity.
This is the picture of Clover who was also owned by Alan Goldsmith & Clover died at the age of 21.

Holly happens to be the oldest doe in the world. The average age for a deer is normally 15 but she’s 21 & pretty soon she’s going to break the Guinness World Record of the oldest deer. She will turn 22 in July. Actually her owner Alan Goldsmith also had the deer that held the title of the world’s oldest but Clover died three years ago aged 21.

The cutest thing is that she loves all types of sweets & her favourite snack is Polo mint. Mr. Alan Goldsmith said: “Deer are very highly strung and they can have a heart attack at any time. That’s why we’re happy to indulge her love of sweets. Her favourites are Polos.”

She was rescued when she was only two weeks old & her mother was being run over & killed. At that time, she was just 10ins tall and a foot long.

Holly is bizarrely the third old-age animal to hit the headlines in Essex, along with a contender for the world’s oldest horse, Shaye, 51, and world’s oldest dog hopeful pip, 24.

In Essex, they do take good care of animals. Nearly everyone is breaking the record. And Holly seems to be one lucky girl.

Every time I look at any deer, I can’t help admiring his eyes. They’ve got very beautiful eyes. When they look at you, you just have the urge to hug them. I’ve never done that but I’ve petted them at the clinic. They are such beautiful creatures.
