A German priest admits to 280 instances of sexual abuse

Germany's Catholic Church has been hit by another case of clerical sexual abuse, & in this one the Catholic priest has confessed to charges of sexual abuse. He abused three boys between the ages of 9 & 15 some 280 times since 2004. The priest has been identified as 46-year-old Andreas L. Moreover, he thinks he did not harm them. In fact he had a close relationship with a widowed woman & he started abusing the boy on various occasions but he’s adamant that it wasn’t his intention to get close to the 9 year old.

When the woman noticed the changes, she approached the diocese of Hildesheim, the priest's employer, which forbid further contact with the boy.

The two other boys were brothers, and the abuse began under similar circumstances. But when contact with them was forbidden, the priest wrote a letter to his first victim, then 17, who in turn told his mother about the abuse.

The mother then went to the authorities, and the suspect was arrested last summer. The court set the maximum sentence for the priest at six and a half years.

"It was never my impression that the children did not consent," the priest was quoted as saying at the trial.

When asked in court if he was a paedophile, he replied: "It would be wrong to say No but to say Yes would also fall short of the truth."

About 2,800 pornographic images were found on the priest's computer, including several of his victims.

Hildesheim diocese spokesman Michael Lukas says the defendant's actions were "a catastrophe for the victims and for the Catholic church."

This is indeed very sickening, but it’s nothing new. Kids have been abused by the clergy all over the world & mostly, they get away with it. I was amazed that he had the audacity to contact his 1st victim after he couldn’t abuse the two brothers. On top of it, he had 2,800 pornographic images on his computer. Six & a half year is not enough. He should reside in jail forever.
