Margin Call

Margin Call is a good movie & it has also received positive response from the critics. And if you don’t know anything about Wall Street as yet or you are confused about it in some way, then you must watch it. The movie simplifies a lot of things in the language that you could understand. But what I find amazing is that even those working at the top level didn’t know how to understand technical details. It was just amazing. It’s really a very strange kind of culture where you can’t understand details as it’s Greek to you & yet you have successfully climbed the ladder but this is what happens.

The cast is superb. It includes Kevin Spacey, Jeremy Irons, Zachary Quinto, Demi Moore, Paul Bettany, Stanley Tucci, Simon Baker, and Penn Badgley. It was of course a treat to watch both Kevin Spacey & Jeremy Irons. I think when they are around, everything seems so real. They make you believe in the character but Jeremy Irons played a very mean boss (that’s how people are at that position & they don’t give a damn about anything at all) & I don’t why we hardly see him when he’s so damn good. However, I think Demi Moore could have done a better job. We are tired of watching her acting in the same way in every flick. Everyone else was believable. I give 10 out of 10 to everyone.

This movie is based on real events & it’s about financial collapse but they did manage to sell off the useless assets before the market gets to know the worthlessness. It’s also saddening to see how hard working employees were fired & how some higher ranked people did nothing but they were highly paid.

It’s also a touching scene in which Kevin Spacey is digging the grave for his dog outside his ex-wife’s house as the dog belonged there. The dog had cancer. I like his character. He really seems to be the only human in that entire drama.

It’s indeed a good movie on Wall Street. I highly recommend it.
