Shannon Alicia Schmiede, 39, was an elementary school teacher who had an affair with a 14 year old. She has been jailed for 40 years for having sex with this teenager. The disgusting part is that she knew the boy ever since he was born & she didn’t have any problem in molesting him. She was more like a mother-figure to the boy, according to the boy’s family.
His mother said: 'She was a close family friend. We had gone to the same church together for 10 years. Our children were friends. Our families were friends. We did everything together. It's impossible to describe how we felt to find out this was going on.'
His parents notice a change in the child when he was 13 & Shannon was acting more like a buddy. The mother never expected in a million years this kind of inappropriate behavior on the part of Shannon. She trusted her like anything. His parents were shocked when they checked out his Facebook. They also discovered series of explicit messages on his computer.
“We were told by investigators that our 14-year-old was a victim of child molestation. This was horrifying and unbelievable. I prayed that this was not true. The more evidence that came out the truth became real, and I began to deal with grief, denial, guilt and so many other emotions. During this time I still was trying to maintain being a wife and mother. How could I have missed this... what mother can't protect her child? I trusted so much and believed that this friend was a gift from God. Words can't begin to explain the heartache we've experienced this past year and the betrayal we've endured. Messages that were recovered showed me more and more evidence and it became a living nightmare. I couldn't bear the thought of my boy trusting someone that had clearly manipulated him.”
Right now the boy is facing trust issues as a result of this affair.

We are supposed to trust teachers & when teacher indulge in such acts, it’s just unacceptable. I know Shannon was not his teacher but she knew his family; they trusted her & she didn’t have any problem betraying them.
As I have been able to understand it, the boy didn’t think he was doing something wrong. When the parents made the discovery, Shannon went to jail & he’s at the moment going for therapy. The mother is the person who says he has trust issues. This child will have problems cause of Shannon for the rest of his life. He might even have problems with his family later on. He may not be able to trust a person in another relationship. It’s his life that is ruined. People like Shannon ought to be locked in jail forever.
