The first ever White Killer Whale

What an incredible discovery!

This albino killer whale has been named Iceberg & it’s believed he must be around 16 years or more. He has been sighted in Russia.

Moreover, he has been accepted by the other killer whales. As it is Orca whales are highly social & it’s good they have accepted Iceberg. Although there have been some incidents but killer whales are not a threat to humans.

“In many ways, Iceberg is a symbol of all that is pure, wild and extraordinarily exciting about what is out there in the ocean waiting to be discovered,” says Erich Hoyt, co-director of the Orca project.

Although other white orca whales have been seen but they all were juveniles.

“We’ve seen another two white orcas in Russia but they’ve been young, whereas this is the first time we’ve seen a mature adult,” Hoyt told BBC News.

It’s truly a beautiful creature. I just hope no one hunts him down. We have such crazy people out there.
