Justice for Sonny

Sonny was shot multiple times & then almost drowned by a lunatic named David Krawiec. This 60 year old man is from Oil City, Pennsylvania who in his madness shot Sonny almost 30 times with a BB gun mostly in the head. Then he put Sonny in a cage & dumped it in a 30-gallon trash can filled with water.

Luckily Latisha Adams heard strange noises of a cat crying. She went out & found Sonny in a pretty bad condition. She informed the police. Sonny was taken to Happy Trails Animal Health Center, where he has been treated for the extensive wounds he endured. Now he is eating & drinking, but there’s a long way to go.

Anyhow, it’s a miracle that Sonny has survived but you would be surprised to know that Sonny wasn’t that maniac’s cat. He belonged to someone else & the owner was heartbroken to see his pet in such a horrible state.

Sonny suffered a broken jaw, a ruptured eardrum, and had over 20 BB pellets removed from his body, mostly in his head and face. One eye was so severely damaged from the pellets, it will have to be removed once Sonny is strong enough to undergo the surgery.

This is really serious & David Krawiec ought to be thrown in mental asylum for the rest of his miserable life. You’ve got to be totally mad to carry out this kind of cruelty towards an innocent animal. He has been charged with "cruelty to animals misdemeanor 1", which is the highest animal cruelty charges available for the state. Moreover if he is convicted, he can face a $1000 fine, two years in prison, or both.

I don’t think this kind of punishment is enough. Just two years in jail for ruining someone’s life. Sonny has been through a trauma & God knows how long will he take to come out of it.

I know I’m too passionate about animals & I just can’t see straight when I read about these cases. But it boils my blood & what kind of law is that which doesn’t provide justice. Even if he’s thrown in jail, it’s just two years. This is just not right. Why doesn’t anyone file a suit against this kind of law?

Anyhow, I would really appreciate if you sign the petition. It’s just going to take a minute.
