Lionel and Ellen Buxton met each other in 1930 i.e. 82 years ago but they are very happy being together even today. They got married in 1936. We hardly get to hear about such love stories in real life.
Ellen said: ‘We have never been apart really and have never wanted anyone else. We have been married happily because we have been good friends as well as husband and wife.’
Well I’ve never heard anyone saying that they’ve never wanted anyone else. The idea itself is like paradise on earth. Lionel & Ellen are both very lucky.
Lionel refers to himself as Ellen’s toy boy. He said: ‘We got on so well, went on a few dates together and became a couple. We ended up getting married. We would have done it sooner but could not afford it.’
When you look at their pictures, you would see that love. They are not making it up. They are right about one thing – true love never fades, but it ought to be true. Usually it’s something else.
Lastly Ellen said: ‘We are more in love now than ever. We keep each other going.’
How sweet! But these days, you can’t think of having this kind of relationship. Everything has become so rotten. We’ve got tainted values & pathetically selfish approach towards life. People only think about money. Nobody gives a damn to sincerity or loyalty. Love only exists in books & movies now. Real people don’t have time for it. Or maybe they don’t feel it. It’s just good money & that’s it. We live in an age that is plagued with materialism & it would be sheer stupidity to even hope for this kind of love.
